The incident took place in New London County around 12:50 a.m., Monday, May 15 at the Target at 195 River Road in Lisbon.

According to Connecticut State Police, troopers were requested to assist the local fire marshall with a report of a car fire.

As a result of the initial investigation, this incident has been re-categorized as an active untimely death investigation, when a body was found inside, state police said.

An investigation is being conducted by the Eastern District Major Crime Squad.

No other information was available.
